Saaurnu's Battle

(Theme Music Above)

Author: Taarhal

Saaurnu stood upon the hill, the legion ships were overhead, fel energies bombarding down into the town of Westfall, people were running in panic, running for cover. Others were preparing to fight, all races had come, humans, night elves, orcs, trolls, draenei, differences forgotten. A common enemy bringing all together.

Then the demons started to appear, seeming to appear from nothing, terrors from the worst nightmares suddenly becoming real.

Saaurnu looked in horror as they started to kill and maim those around, she could hear the screams of the wounded around her , and the cries of those defending as they charged towards the foe, blades held high, glinting like diamonds as they caught the sun light.

Arcane magics flew towards the demons, arrows sliced through the air, battle horns cut through the morning like a banshee’s wail

Saaurnu looked on from the top of the hill, frozen by the sights, the sounds, the smells. Then something deep in her long forgotten subconscious memories stirred, an image flashed through her mind, she saw her parents, saw the demons burning them before her.

Saaurnu raised her arms high, she was dressed in a white flowing robe to match her pure white skin, she heard a scream come from her mouth, a scream of rage, her eyes moved to look down the hill to a group of warriors being pushed back by demons.

“Nooooo….you will not have them” she screamed in her native tongue

A golden light surged from her hands, bathing the Draenei in its light , it flowed down the hill to consume the warriors in its healing aura, allowing them to rally and push the demons back allowing them to slay them.

But more kept coming until a huge demon lord appeared, a beast so terrifying Saaurnu wanted to run, to cry, to hide….but the image of her parents she had seen, she remembered now and it made her stay, gave her strength to fight against those that had killed them.

“For Argus, for my parents….for the Draenei” she screamed as the golden light streamed from her hands, pulsed outwards from her pure white form stood as it was upon the hill top. She heard those around her gain hope, gain morale from her. Knowing they were protected and that where before they had faced certain death, now they had a chance.

Now they could win, now the demons would see the power of the Holy Light and its chosen bearers, now the demons would have something to fear.
